Criticism after Katrina: PT 1
I don't think anyone had expected hurricane Katrina would have the damage it did except those who studied what just must those levies could handle. Unfortunately we seemed to have an "it can't to me" complex. Well it did. I don't know what happened however it seems like those of our elected officials do. One of the criticism is President Bush did not act quickly enough.
When I last sat in history class each level of government had its own share of responsibility. Why didn't the local city officials make available the 206 school buses parked in the city's municipal parking area and do more to get people out if the hurricane's path especially the elderly, young children and those who couldn't make it.
